Coming next month: A World Labyrinth Day Event on the Green

World Labyrinth Day is a global event that has been running for several years and one if its special features takes place at 1 pm all over the world: a group labyrinth walk for peace.

Our event is a drop in session so come any time between 11.30 and 1.30. If you would like to take part in the peace walk please arrive at about 12.50. The event will be facilitated by me (Jorella). I’m a long-time Friend of the Green, currently also the Chair of Albion Millennium Green Trust, and I am a Veriditas certified labyrinth facilitator.

The event will include opportunities to learn more about labyrinth walking, especially as as a way of finding peace. In fact, FINDING PEACE ON THE GREEN is the overall theme for this year’s event. As we continue to love and care for this place – making it as safe as possible while keeping it as wild as possible – our hope is that Green will become more and more of a haven where visitors can switch off, relax, and contemplate, finding time to connect with themselves, with friends, and with nature. To this end, we will have various resources available including “Finding Peace on the Green” maps with a walking trail marked out which you will be free to use as well as write or draw on. Drawing materials will be provided.

“Finding Peace on the Green” is a family friendly event and children are most welcome. Please note though that children must be supervised while in the Green by parents or carers.

If the weather permits, you might also like to bring a picnic.

The event is organised by the Friends of Albion Millennium Green and if you are interested in becoming a volunteer please speak with us on the day. The event is free but if you would like to donate towards the upkeep of the Green, a Just Giving button can be found on the website.
